A new future
SES provide global satellite communications solutions, connecting broadcast, telecom, corporate and government customers and enriching the lives of billions of people worldwide.
As part of a major brand repositioning for SES – centred around the new brand idea ‘Beyond Frontiers’ positioning SES as a world-shaping future-defining business – our role was to create a digital destination that aligned their global capabilities and ambitions by providing an intuitive user experience for a varied and demanding global audience.
Collaborating with the SES team, co-locating between London and Luxembourg, we helped define the product strategy and were responsible for the entire user experience, visual design and technical development of the responsive web platform, including a new extranet.
Alongside SES, the Catch project team worked closely with branding consultancy Venturethree to ensure the new website was part of a unified brand experience.

Also, a global SES extranet
In addition to their new global website platform, we've developed a new Drupal multisite instance, inside the existing SES Drupal installation to house content for the new SES Extranet.
This new instance created and consumed a suite of RESTful API’s to synchronise data with an external platform which provided some functional aspects of the new extranet.
The external platform was developed at the same time as the D8 site, so communication was key. We agreed the structure of endpoints on both sides and then created stubs with dummy data for these endpoints to develop against.
Single sign-on (SSO) was an important consideration, we used SimpleSAMLphp to connect the IdP provided by the third party.
A global platform for SES
We created a digital brand experience that reflects their ambitious brand repositioning by providing an intuitive user experience for a varied and demanding global audience alongside showcasing the new brand to the world.
